INFORMATIONAL NOTIFICATION

Unto the Populace of the East Kingdom, Greetings.
This notification is being published to document the situation below.

Description: As many of you are aware, the eastkingdom.org website has been experiencing ongoing rolling outages due to an unknown server issue that has been investigated by the Webministry and referred to the Hosting company.

No reasonable answer has come from the hosting company to date, which has forced us to move the website as-is to the new server. Access to the website has been restored, however the functionality of all services remain incomplete.

At this time the East Kingdom Calendar should be accessible to view the current listing. It is *not* able to be used to add new events. We are in the process of repairing the accessibility to add new events and will post regarding this process.

Email continues to give false bounce messages, and also intermittently does not forward email as requested. The email exchange server settings is in the process of being migrated from the old server to the new.

It has been determined that the current code the eastkingdom.org website is running on can not be repaired to full functionality as much of it is undocumented and now broken. There is also an apparent hardware or back-end software issue going on that is irreparable, making it so that we have no time to try work with the code as we were previously trying to do.

Therefore, at this time we are working towards having a stable and usable system with the website now that it is on the new server, as a bridge while we work on building a new website from the ground up. The functionality is paramount to the continuation of a service the Kingdom heavily relies on.

We thank you for your understanding through this difficult transition, and the assistance you have given by putting the information out in other formats during this brief interim.
